Tube and pipe bending
Tube and pipe bending Melbourne
We use a Mackma BM76 tube and pipe bender
We use the world's most versatile and highly reliable tube bender, the Mackma BM76 tube and pipe bender. The Mackma BM76 is all-Electric and has an Inverter for Energy Savings. Its capacity is 76mm Diameter x 4mm Wall.
The machine enables both a left and a right-hand bend direction with standard Tooling and has a cantilevered head for Under-head Bending.
Pipe and tube bending minimum order quantities
We complete both small and large tube and pipe bending work involving small order quantities and large order quantities. Contact us now on (03) 9761 4118.
Types of tube and piping
Rigid metal pipe and tubing can be made of copper, steel, stainless steel, titanium or aluminium, however, all of these materials will bend differently.
Keep in mind the following for your tube and pipe bending needs:
- Generally, the tube is measured by the outside diameter while pipes are measured by the inside diameter, so the pipe could appear thicker than tubing of the same measurement.
- The bend radius measures the inside curvature and indicates the minimum radius one can bend a pipe or tube without kinking or otherwise damaging it. The greater the flexibility of the material, the smaller the bend radius.
- The die (sometimes called the “shoe”) of a pipe bender is the curved form around which the pipe bends.
- Spring back is the tendency of a pipe to revert to its original shape after bending. You may need to bend slightly further than your target to compensate for spring back, based on the kind of material and the thickness of the tubing wall. Copper tubing bending often sees less spring back than other materials.
